Persons Deprived of their Liberty During COVID-19
05 August 2020
Exclusively medical responses to COVID-19 in closed settings are inadequate due to overcrowding in many places of detention, which adversely affects the hygiene, health, safety and human dignity of prisoners.

The WHO Regional Office for Europe has also published interim recommendations on measures to prevent coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in prisons "Preparedness and prevention and control of COVID-19 in prisons and other places of detention."
